Welcome to WebStatus.in. These Terms of Use govern your use of our website and all tools and services we provide. By accessing or using any of our tools, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our service.

1. Service Description

WebStatus.in provides a collection of free developer tools and web utilities. Our tools fall into two categories based on how they process data:

Server-Side Tools

These tools send requests from our servers and require your input to be transmitted:

• Website Status Checker: Checks whether a website is accessible by sending requests from our servers and analyzing the response.
• Website Speed Checker: Tests website and API response times by measuring DNS, TCP, TLS, TTFB, and content transfer timings from our servers.

Client-Side Tools (processed entirely in your browser)

• Text & Data: JSON Editor, CSV Editor, Text Diff Checker, Base64 Encoder & Decoder
• Web & API: cURL Command Builder, Campaign URL Builder
• Encode & Generate: JWT Decoder/Encoder/Verifier, QR Code Generator, Coupon Generator
• Time: World Time, Epoch & Unix Timestamp Converter
• AI & LLM: Token Calculator, LLM RAM Calculator, Token Speed Simulator

Educational Content

• Web Technology Education: Educational articles on HTTP status codes, CORS, web networking, uptime and downtime, how the internet works, and web security.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use our service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon the rights of others, including intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our service
• Perform excessive or automated queries that may degrade service quality
• Use the Status Checker or Speed Checker to target websites for malicious purposes, denial-of-service testing, or unauthorized scanning
• Use developer tools (JSON, JWT, cURL, QR, etc.) to generate or process content that facilitates illegal activities
• Generate coupons or campaign URLs for fraudulent, illegal, or harmful purposes
• Use AI/LLM tools to produce misleading benchmarks or claims about model performance
• Attempt to abuse location services or use the World Time tool in ways that compromise security or privacy

2.1. Client-Side Tools

The majority of our tools process data entirely in your browser, including the JSON Editor, CSV Editor, Text Diff Checker, Base64 Encoder, cURL Builder, Campaign URL Builder, JWT Debugger, QR Code Generator, Epoch Converter, Coupon Generator, World Time, Token Calculator, LLM RAM Calculator, and Token Speed Simulator. For these tools:

• You are responsible for the content you generate or process using these tools
• We do not store, access, or monitor the data you enter into these tools on our servers
• Some tools use your browser's localStorage to save inputs and preferences between sessions — this data stays on your device
• You retain full ownership and responsibility for any output generated (coupons, URLs, QR codes, cURL commands, tokens, etc.)
• For the World Time tool, location permission is optional and all processing happens locally in your browser

2.2. Rate Limits and Fair Use

Server-side tools (Website Status Checker and Speed Checker) are subject to rate limits to ensure fair access for all users. The Status Checker is limited to 10 requests per minute per IP address, and a global throttle of 1,000 requests per minute applies across all server-side endpoints. Exceeding these limits may result in temporary restrictions.

3. Service Limitations

You acknowledge and agree that:

• Our service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties
• We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or secure access to our service
• Results may not be 100% accurate as they depend on various factors including network conditions, target server behavior, and browser capabilities
• LLM token counts and cost estimates are approximations and may differ from actual API provider calculations
• We may impose usage limits or restrictions to prevent abuse
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any tool at any time without notice

4. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of our website are owned by WebStatus.in and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works based on our website content without our express written permission.

5. Privacy

Your use of our service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your data across all our tools.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall WebStatus.in be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service
• Any conduct or content of any third party on the service
• Any content obtained from the service, including inaccurate status checks, speed measurements, token counts, or other tool outputs
• Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless WebStatus.in from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms of Use or your use of the service.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which WebStatus.in operates.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms of Use at any time. Your continued use of the service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use.
